Die Laute

Sie ist zwar kein Vorläufer der Gitarre, aber auf Grund der engen verwandschaftlichen Beziehung, soll sie hier dennoch erwähnt werden.
Die Laute zählt zu einem der ältesten Musikinstrumente, sie ist als Tanbur bereits 2 Jahrtausende vor Christus auf babylonisch-assyrischen Denkmälern nachweisbar.

Die Laute kam im 8. Jahrhundert nach Christi Geburt über Spanien und Sizilien nach Europa. Interessanterweise konnte die Laute in Spanien nicht Fuß fassen und musste dort der Vihuela den Vorrang lassen.

In Frankreich, Deutschland, Italien, Ungarn, England und den Niederlanden verbreitete sie sich jedoch und entwickelte eine hohe Spielkultur. Die Laute war auch in allen Musikgattungen, sowohl dem Solospiel, als auch in der Kammermusik und orchestralen Werken weit verbreitet.

Im 18. Jahrhundert brachte schließlich Sylvius Leopold Weiß die Laute zu ihrem musikalischen Höhepunkt.
Für den Gitarristen stellt sich auf Grund der starken Verwandschaftsbeziehung zwischen Gitarre und Laute die Frage, inwieweit Lautenmusik auf der Gitarre ausgeführt werden darf.
Ohne diese Frage jetzt groß und breit zu erörtern empfinde ich in der Regel eine Ausführung als sehr reizvoll und befriedigend für Spieler und Zuhörer.
